How to harness the full power of video

Scriba’s NED Katie Mallinson switched her usual behind-the-scenes spot for a position in front of the camera last month when she participated in an event for Leeds Digital Festival.

The panel discussion - set in the impressive theatre at the Seven Arts venue in Chapel Allerton - was the brainchild of film expert, Manto.

Hosted by Manto’s founder and MD, Paul Broadie - a long-time partner of Scriba’s - it brought together three comms professionals, to discuss how to harness the full power of video content. Katie was joined on the sofa by Ollie Ratcliffe, head of marketing at SALT Brewing and Taps, and Andy Roberts, communications and content manager at Leeds Hospitals Charity.

The straight-talking discussion made for a jam-packed hour of debate, advice and questions from the online audience. Topics included:

  • Working out which type of video will resonate with your target audience.

  • Utilising video content in social conversation.

  • Capturing the hearts and minds of both B2B and B2C audiences.

  • Defining the objectives of a video project.

  • The role of video in SEO.

  • How to use video as part of an event comms strategy.

  • Balancing in-house and user-generated content with professional productions.

And so much more!

Recognising that not everyone would be able to make the event - not least because there was so much going on during the Leeds Digital Festival fortnight - the Manto crew expertly captured the discussion so viewers can now catch up on demand.

And as you’d probably expect from a team of video pros, the recording feels more like a professional talk show than your typical ‘listen again’ webinar. So if you missed out the first time, and you’d like to supercharge your own video efforts, why not tune in?
