Voices of early years sector unite to bring free guide to children’s educators

The free resource – entitled The ABC of Early Years Education – brings together 26 of the sector’s most trusted expert voices, sharing insight, top tips, activities, and resources with childcare professionals.

Written in an alphabet-style format, the guide features topics spanning the early years spectrum – including contributions which look at everything from big emotions, wellbeing, technology, and outdoor play to data security, inclusivity, sustainability, nutrition, and more.

Many of the sector’s leading lights are featured – with commentary from Alistair Bryce-Clegg, Jennie Johnson, June O’Sullivan MBE, Kathy Brodie, Alison Featherbe, David Wright, and Cheryl Hadland, to name just a few.

Connect Childcare created and orchestrated the resource, which is free to download on the nursery management software provider’s website – here.

Commenting on the rationale behind the project, Connect Childcare’s CEO, Chris Reid, said: “One of the many amazing things about the early years sector is that it is caring and collaborative in its approach. And we wanted to capture this in one easy-to-digest guide.

“It is designed to educate, inform, and inspire current and future generations of early years professionals – from nursery managers and practitioners to childminders and after-school club providers.”

One of the contributing authors, June O’Sullivan MBE, CEO of London Early Years Foundation, added: “When approached to take part in this project, I was really excited.

“I saw it as an opportunity to contribute to something which embodies what the sector is all about – sharing knowledge to foster best practice and create the best possible environment to develop the young children in our care. And that is powerful stuff.”

Chris concluded, “It’s been an incredible project to work on and we hope the sector will find it useful.”

The guide is available to download for free, here, however if you would like a physical copy for your nursery, please get in touch with Connect Childcare, via marketing@connectchildcare.com.
