Scriba raises rope access expert’s profile to new heights

Access North Structures’ MD Berenice Northcott explores why the firm chose Scriba to provide them with PR support and how the decision is paying off…

How did you find Scriba?

We first heard about Scriba through a recommendation from a shared contact at a local digital marketing agency.

What were your initial thoughts about Scriba and why did this make you want to work with us?

Having initially met with three companies, we chose Scriba as they seemed to connect with us and understand what we’re all about. Their professional, friendly and calm approach put us at ease and made us feel comfortable.

Why did you decide that you needed PR?

With the ultimate goal of increasing sales across the rope access, ETFE, tensile fabric and fall protection divisions of our business, we wanted to enhance our visibility within the industries we work. These range from facilities management and construction to leisure, tourism, hospitality and education.

What were the objectives of enlisting Scriba’s services?

The main objective was definitely to raise the company profile and support our goal to become renowned as the height experts in the UK.

What has Scriba helped to achieve for your company?

Scriba has assisted us with the launch of our new website, along with achieving key trade coverage and – more recently – helping us with awards entries. Alongside spreading the word about our projects and growth in regional media, the team has also secured advice-led features for us in technical journals we’ve never appeared in before, including Tomorrow’s FM, Construction News and Industrial Plant & Equipment, to name just a few. This PR has seen our company news and commentary reach a total audience of around 4 million in just 12 months.

Having also enlisted Scriba’s help for awards entries last year, we were shortlisted for two prestigious honours – firstly in the SME Emerging category for the regional Forward Ladies National Awards and secondly as a contender for Employer of the Year in the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards. Scriba has also taken on the management of our social media accounts, which has seen us experiencing a notable upturn in visibility and interest. This is particularly apparent on Twitter, where impressions have increased by 513% and engagement by 77% in comparison to our previous 12 months of activity.

How have these achievements helped towards your business objectives?

Alongside increasing awareness of Access North Structures within the FM and construction industries in particular, Scriba’s efforts have additionally led to greater recognition within regional business spheres. It is this heightened profile that has largely contributed to our being shortlisted for two prestigious regional business awards.

What would you say were the three key plus points about your relationship/working with Scriba?

  • They always respond quickly and proactively
  • We see them as an extension of our team
  • The Construction News coverage they achieved for our work at Fantasy Island is a definite favourite!
