Ruth Harrison-Davies has joined the Scriba PR team as our newest account manager. A self-confessed ‘word nerd’ Ruth fit right in when she arrived on her first day armed with a box of cupcakes! She brings with her a wealth of experience across the journalistic, PR and marketing sectors. We thought we’d let her introduce herself…
Joining Scriba PR, I can’t quite believe it’s already been 10 years since I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Journalism from the University of Central Lancashire, and I’ve been lucky enough to work in writing-based roles ever since.
I started my professional career as the music and travel editor for an online magazine (think plenty of free gig tickets but not enough sleep) before moving into the world of PR in 2012. I’ve spent the past six and a half years as a one-woman PR, social media and marketing machine in-house at a motorsport manufacturer, and now I’m ready for a new challenge.
As the newest recruit to Scriba PR, I’m looking forward to the changes that working as part of an agency will provide. In addition to being a genuine and friendly bunch of people, what really drew me to the team was the variety of clients I would be given the chance to work on.
In the first instance, I’ll be looking after working at height specialists Access North Structures, high voltage power contractors Smith Brothers and managed IT support provider Q2Q, preparing press releases, features and blogs as well as steering their communications strategies.
I’m already loving the role, and I can’t wait to see how it progresses!
