What a fabulous first week at Scriba HQ — from the moment I arrived I was given the warmest of welcomes and made to feel right at home by the entire team.
Settling into my new workspace, my initial thoughts were nothing but positive. And, with the bonus of a lovely welcome box placed on my desk — thank you Katie Mallinson — I felt excited to start my new role as PR executive.
I spent my first couple of days getting to grips with the Scriba office and who the various clients are, before grasping the press release process and how to achieve killer coverage, which was an insightful and enjoyable learning curve.
After sending out my first set of emails introducing myself to the many friends of Scriba, I was pleasantly surprised by the influx of replies wishing me luck in my new role, which confirmed my belief that they’re a great team to work with.
As a soon-to-be graduate, with a background in marketing and PR — mainly in the fashion industry — I set my sights further afield when choosing an industry to work in, or a multitude of industries in Scriba’s case! From construction to tech, all the way through to waste management, I am really excited to sink my teeth into the world of complex B2B communications.
Also on my task list this week was the opportunity to complete Don Cilfton’s StrengthFinder test, which helped me to discover which top five skills will help me to thrive in my new role — more on this later!
Ending the week on a high, Scriba’s monthly team social was most definitely not one to miss! Flower arranging and prosecco — what’s not to love?!
I’m really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me in this exciting new role and I feel proud to be a part of a team of hard-working individuals who are great at what they do!
