Scriba PR is proud to have become the official sponsor of an up-and-coming junior football squad in the agency’s hometown of Huddersfield – and the company logo is now emblazoned on matchday shirts!
The recently-established Linthwaite Under 7s – who comprise two teams, the Leopards and the Lions – play six-a-side soccer in the Macron Huddersfield and Junior District Football League.
They were making do with hand-me-down shirts, in the club’s iconic black and white stripes, before Scriba PR stepped in to sponsor a brand-new, stylish Umbro kit – supplied by O’Neill’s Sports. The strip got its big-match debut at a rainy away game against Ossett Town.
Katie Mallinson, managing director of Scriba PR, said: “We’ve been in business for over seven years, and have supported many good causes and local organisations so far. It was only a matter of time before we moved into sports sponsorship!
“I grew up in Linthwaite, and our account manager Jenny Gibson’s son is a team member, so when the Leopards and the Lions needed our help, there’s no way we would have said no!
“We’re fans of any initiative that gets young children active and enthusiastic in these difficult times – and look forward to cheering on our little legends for many, many matches to come.”
Linthwaite Under 7s are coached and managed by parents Chris and Tracy Wilkins, Ash Taylor and Paul Coverley.
Tracy Wilkins said: “We’re delighted to welcome Scriba PR on board as our sponsor. It’s lovely when businesses can contribute to their community like this.
“We started training together in August and began playing league matches in September. At this age it’s the taking part that’s important, not the winning, but we’ve had some great games – and victories – so far!
“Our boys are right at the beginning of their junior football adventures. It’s such an exciting time for them, and our beautiful shirts will help us to feel proud and confident, every time we play.”
