Having Scriba on board as a designated press office function, we knew all media relations would run smoothly on the day and journalists would be well looked after. We not only had great media coverage pre- and post-event, but our senior team was approached for interview pieces, too.

Project Overview

For two years running, we were appointed as Optm’s designated press office function for its industry-leading annual tech expo – pt18 and pt19 – attended by over 800 sector professionals.

Project Details

In the run up to the event, we were tasked with drumming up interest among key trade and regional media titles and journalists – and securing their attendance.

As well as being present on the day to welcome media contacts – from Yorkshire Business Insider, Comms Business, Business Leader, and Business Cloud to name a few – we were also responsible for managing photography and interviewing journalists for social media soundbites. We were enlisted to draft real-time social media posts about the various TED-style talks too.

Additionally, we took care of pre- and post-event PR support and stakeholder management, to ensure all press activities ran smoothly.

The events are typically attended by big tech names – including Huawei, HP and, Dell – and pt19 was hosted by The Gadget Show presenter, Ortis Deley.

We’ve also been Optm’s go-to PR partner for any ad-hoc projects ever since 2018, to complement the work of their talented internal marketing team.
