After graduating in the midst of a pandemic, I felt apprehensive as I began my career search. Calling Yorkshire ‘home’ once more, I tried my utmost to involve myself in the local arts scene and find a place where I could fit in.
It brings me such joy to say that place is with Scriba PR, as their new digital marketing executive!
My love for the creative industry began all the way back in high school, I then navigated a path through college and university, before setting on a career in content creation. Later, graduating with a degree based in promotion, I needed to put my best foot forward to enter the industry I’d worked so fiercely to be a part of. My degree set me up with a varied toolkit to master the world of digital marketing. So, it was only right, that upon joining Scriba, the team tasked me with focusing on all-things-digital comms – and I was surrounded by first-class PR experts to learn from
Discovered by a mutual contact, when managing director, Katie Mallinson approached me with a potential opportunity, I didn’t hesitate with my response. After an initial chat and face-face meet, I became the latest member of the team, with the quickest onboarding they had seen yet!
As soon as I entered Scriba PR’s world, I recognised the passion, drive and care they had for their colleagues and clients – instantly discovering this was where my career should begin. I cannot begin to thank the team enough for answering my 1,001 questions and making the transition into my role much easier.
Now, my next hurdle awaits, moving to a remote working set up only three weeks since joining the team. While I have been reassured the weeks ahead are a learning opportunity – and one I won’t do alone – it fills me with even more enthusiasm to get back into the office and thrive in an environment full of talented individuals as we enter the New Year.
