OT Group sets the standard for information security with ISO credentials

Business services and workplace solutions specialist, OT Group, has secured prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification in recognition of its information security management system (ISMS) expertise.

Forming part of the larger Paragon Group, the UK-headquartered business was accredited by Global Accredited Certification Body NQA, and the certification applies to the Office Depot UK, OfficeTeam and OT Wholesale brands.

Administered by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), ISO 27001 sets the bar on how to manage information security. The standard is an internationally recognised framework which specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS).

“Our customers are accelerating their digital transformation, and security is now the true business enabler to make it happen,” explained David Harvell, OT Group’s Group IT Director. “Maintaining the integrity and security of data is a major enabler and differentiator in many industries and ours is no different.

“This certification demonstrates to our clients, colleagues, and partners that we are at the forefront of this important area – providing assurances to our valued customers when they are evaluating the quality, breadth, and strength of our security practices.”

The certification process followed a rigorous audit process which examined OT Group’s procedures and policies, in line with the highest information security management standards.

The benchmark certification obliges OT Group to continue running the recommended risk assessment and internal audit at least once a year, while continuously training existing employees and new hires on information security policies and best practices.
