Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone!

With just over three weeks to go until Santa Claus and his reindeers will visit all the good folk of Huddersfield, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to look back on what has been a cracker of a year for us at Scriba!

Earlier this year, we moved home into our new self-contained loft conversion office, complete with beautiful exposed beams and a spacious meeting room. This has facilitated our team’s growth, which currently stands at 7 employees.

As you may already know we have been extremely busy this year – due in part to our client base doubling – but we haven’t let this stop us in supporting and mentoring young people into the profession, through our internships and work placements. Our MD Katie has ensured that we also remain committed to our own regular personal development and wellbeing. Something which we all believe is so important, and the key to a happy workplace!

And we can’t forget about the awards nominations and wins! Being shortlisted for the PR Moments Awards at the start of the year, and Katie winning Start Up of the Year at the Forward Ladies Awards – this is something we are all hugely proud of, and it’s great for the team’s hard work to be acknowledged.

My personal highlight of 2017 was simply being asked to be a part of this incredible team on a full-time basis. Without this opportunity, I wouldn’t have been involved in this amazing year at Scriba!

Some of the gang’s other highlights are…

Katie: “I am proud of RVA Group coming on board, as we wanted to get back into the demolition sector and they’ve already had a great few months with us – which included the MD Richard being chosen as the keynote speaker for the World Demolition Summit. Some more personal highlights are being chosen as one of Yorkshire Business Insider’s 42 under 42, as well as offering PR advice to Greenhead College as a governor, especially as I was a student there myself.”

Louise: “Watching the team grow has been amazing, as well as moving into our new office, but my favourite thing from this year has to be the launch of our very own training workshops – it’s been great to see so many people wanting to get involved with them!”

Jenny: “I love my agency adventure with Scriba as I have only ever worked in in-house PR roles, so I am learning lots of new things! I particularly enjoyed the Huddersfield SOUP event – it was great to connect with so many businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups from a town that seems to be really buzzing.”

Hannah: “I really liked helping out with the PR for the Design Conference and attending on the day – it’s great to see that Huddersfield has a lot of talent! Team away days are also a highlight for me – there is always so much work and forward planning to get through, but I think they’re a really great team ‘reset’ and it’s good to bounce ideas off each other.”

It is has also been fantastic to see so many of our amazing clients grow and have their hard work recognised through award nominations and wins. And, we would like to say a massive thank you to YOU – it wouldn’t have been such a fabulous year without you all!

So, now we have reminisced on a brilliant year, we would like to get back to the topic of Christmas and let you know that we will be officially closing for the festive period on the 21st December, and returning in the New Year on the 3rd of January.

In the words of the big man himself: “ho ho ho Merry Christmas!”
