Scriba PR, technical B2B specialists

Huddersfield PR specialists hired for tech event

Huddersfield-based Scriba PR – a copywriting and public relations consultancy specialising in technical B2B briefs – has been appointed as the communications partner for a new event.

TechTrade Yorkshire (TY16)is a free one day conference and exhibition designed specifically for Yorkshire’s IT professionals. Taking place on 8 September, at Elland Road Leeds, it will welcome around 50 exhibitors from the world of technology, with The Intellectual Property Office, Media Yorkshire, Blue Logic and Manchester-headquartered Godel Technologies among the names already confirmed.

A jam-packed seminar programme will run alongside, with a number of high profile speakers in the line up. Microsoft’s James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners, will take to the stage for example, to advise how organisations can use technology – and people – to drive innovation and transformation. Big data, cybercrime, telecoms and cloud computing are also high on the agenda of topics, thanks to additional speakers including Vince Sparks, IT Director of Eddie Stobart; David Warburton-Broadhurst, CIO of Metronet UK; Dr Adam Beaumont, CEO and Founder of AQL; Dylan Roberts, Chief Digital Officer at Leeds City Council; and Richard Carter, Chief Executive of Nostrum Group.

Commenting on the TY16 launch, Chrissie Gale, founder and managing director of event organiser Mooncas said: “Yorkshire is fast becoming renowned for its digital prowess, with some of the country’s most prolific technological talent based here in the region. This event is designed to bring that community together, to help unlock the county’s further potential for growth.

“We’ve cultivated a carefully considered platform to encourage skills and knowledge development in this fast-paced and progressive arena. Now we have only a matter of weeks to raise awareness and drive registrations, hence the need for PR support.”

Commenting on her reasons for choosing Scriba, Chrissie elaborated: “For our previous events Manufactured Yorkshire and Educated Yorkshire, I selected PR specialists in their respective sectors. It was therefore important that I found a communications partner for TY16 with proven expertise in the technology and digital space. Scriba came highly recommended and quickly demonstrated that they share my vision to ensure technology drives productivity, efficiency and innovation within our region.”

The TY16 website has gone live only this week. Further information including the seminar programme, speaking opportunities, exhibition and sponsorship packages, can be found at www.techtradeyorkshire.co.uk.

Commenting on the appointment, Scriba’s founder Katie Mallinson said: “The PR industry is crowded with lots of talented agencies vying for clients’ business. When we started out in 2013, we therefore strived to offer something a little different – services for organisations with a particularly ‘techy’ story to tell.

“Three years on this niche focus appears to be paying off, and we’re delighted to have been approached by Mooncas because of our reputation in the digital industry.”

Based at Heritage Exchange in Lindley, Huddersfield, Scriba celebrated its third anniversary earlier this month. Clients include The Media Centre, software vendor Cascade HR and marketing automation specialist Force24.
